Project: Hardware and branding for G20 Summit
Client: WRG
The G20 Summit, held in March this year, was one of our most high profile projects to date… SLS provided in excess of 250 flags and flagpoles for the event, which dominated the Look of this widely broadcasted meeting.
With the world’s media in attendance and key political figures such as Barack Obama standing in front of the flags, we knew there would be extreme pressure on us to ensure absolute perfection! Subsequently from logistical planning to implementation, there was a requirement for the SLS team to be forward thinking and detailed in all aspects of delivery.
Similarly on site our operations team were, as always, meticulous in ensuring that the flagpoles were spaced apart precisely and uniformly, resulting in a fantastic display which added to the drama of the event.
“We were delighted with the outcome of such a prestigious event, which, from install to derig, showcased all round professionalism, team solidarity and sheer hard work” – Giles Stanford, MD
Project: Liverpool Chocolate Festival
Client: Liverpool One
When better to hold a chocolate filled, chocolate themed, chocolate branded festival? Easter, of course!
Aptly located on ‘Paradise Street’ stood ten wooden chalets, housing ten different chocolatiers offering uniquely specialist chocolate treats… every chocolate lover’s dream!!
An in-house concept from the beginning, SLS was immensely proud of the success of this event, which included in its content, talks, displays and public tasting sessions. However the highlight of the event was an exclusive demonstration by channel 4’s Willie Harcourt-Cooze, which was both interesting and educational!
There was a buzzing atmosphere around the venue, which SLS dressed with various branding elements complete with directional signage to project the festival’s unique Look…

Project: iShares, the Venice Chapter
Client: OC Events
Following the great success of the 2008 series SLS recently completed the first chapter of the 2009 iShares series in Venice, where the weather was fantastic for the event and spirits were high. SLS fitted out an impressive temporary hospitality structure by the water’s edge, as well as a winners’ podium, leader board, an entrance feature and an attractive display of waterside corporate branding. We look forward to matching success in Hyeres, France, which is the next leg of the series, where we will be carrying out similar work in another fabulous host location!
Louise Close, Event Manager for OC Events said: “Thanks to SLS for making the Impossible Possible! Venice was a logistical challenge due to having to barge everything onto the island and build everything without forklifts, but with the help of SLS we built a fabulous race village overlooking the San Marco Basin”.
